Please, please, please: if you are trying to become fluent in French, take French courses in university! You will have space for electives and there is no reason you should quit learning languages because you no longer have to take French. Learning languages can’t hurt and it can only increase your job opportunities after school! At the University of Ottawa (the uni I go to), there is a French immersion program and a LOT of FSL courses. This itself is good, but I find the university average for my program. And res was about 6k for 8 months (for the apartment-style rooms). If you choose to move across the bridge to Hull after first year, you should be able to find a 2 bedroom apt for about 700-800/mth including hydro, heat, water. Living in Ottawa is slightly more expensive, about 1000-1100 for a 2 bedroom. Choosing a university is tough business and the application process is ridiculous. If you have any questions about it, I’m sure anyone here can help you. We did it, and have lots of answers. Good luck!

Hi Puget and Whisel, can't tell you how happy I am to see both of you guys here, whopee….
I think I need to make you two contributors to post, so I will check how to do that and let you know or fix it somehow…I'm just learning this software and having some problems, like with the flicker photos, can't manage to get them to be my pics yet.
So anyway great to see you.

You are right on this Jon! Just learning the software to create media is a small part of it. It is great to see you experimenting with different tutorials and exploring the infinite depths of photoshop. Once you create these images how will you share them with the world? How will people find your work? There is a whole side of graphic design which entails delivering your important message to the audience. Hopefully we will find some new and effective ways to get your media to the masses.

Keep picking up new tricks and share them with the class.

Hell Glyn, what happens to it now? You don’t even have a copyright notice of any sort on the blog, so we don’t know if you intend to allow remixing or reusing, or anything else. One thing that Word Press is really good for is that you can edit the Theme yourself, so mine says that the bottom of every page:

One thing you should learn is that formal French learning is French. We don't distinguish as snobs would, the Québec, New-Brunswick and Manitoba accents, much the same as you would not the American versus the English or Australian. When spoken by natives, you have their regional accents and "tournure de phrases" but it is the same basic language.

As for an Anglo learning French, they only have to see the word spelled out to mispronounce it, so you tell me where the pronounciation, enunciation problems come from.

To check it out, go to RDI for the national news at night. That is the proper French.
