I purchased this product on 11/28/2009. Before buying this software I called Rosetta Stone Tech Support to ask if it would work on a Windows 7 machine. The Tech Support person answered right away that yes, this product will work with Windows 7.
When I received the software and tried to load it on my Windows 7 laptop I got a program error. Lucky for me I also have a Windows Vista computer. I loaded it on my Windows Vista computer and it works fine. The lessons for me are that if an operating system is not listed in the system requirements the software probably will not work with that operating system and that Tech Support does not always tell the truth. I know Apple monitors have a brighter color setup, but I find they don’t really last nearly as long. In fact, every apple product I bought in the past (I’m a graphic designer myself) has stopped working within the first year. Conversely, my PCs last for ages, and don’t require expensive tech support or mailing the product back to HQ (which I had to do 4 times with my iPod). I recently bought an Acer laptop for about $1000. Out of curiosity I went to the Apple site to see what a comparable laptop would cost. The closest model hardware-wise was $2,500. I just can’t justify spending an extra $1,500 on something that is more or less the same product, but with an Apple logo on it. The Acer, btw, has been excellent so far. I bought this price difference up with a client who was making Apple accessories, and she explained it to me like this. You can buy a nice, working purse for about $50-$100 and it will look nice and serve you well. Or, you can spend a couple thousand dollars on a designer purse that will do the same exact thing, but have the status element that comes with it. That extra $1,500 is paying for a status symbol.
The message dose NOT say your drivers are bad, it says your grafix card dose NOT meet the minimum requirement to run VISTA… If your running a desktop computer, Just get a better grafix card.
When I needed an excuse to smoke, my go-to support person always asked me this: Will smoking change the circumstances in any appreciable way? Will smoking a cigarette bring your fiancee back? Probably not, and you’ll blow your quit for the 5 minutes of alleged relaxation that you get from your smoke. You’ll then have the guilt about blowing your quit to deal with. Remember this: Smoking does not cure any problems. Smoking only provides an illusion of relaxation. If you need to “do” something, breathe deeply, think of the benefits of quitting and repeat to yourself that you are a non-smoker. Good luck to you. I’ve been through it: I have been quit for 801 days. 2Y 2M 1W 3D 11h 52m My Quit Date: 2/28/2009 9:45 PM Based on prices when I quit, I’ve kept $4,187.79 out of the hands of Big Tobacco.
My favourite was this one,
Customer everything just went dead, screen monitor everything.
Tech Support check a cable has not pulled out at the back.
Customer I can't see it's too dark.
Tech Support well turn the light on. Customer I can't we just had a power cut. Oh sh** sorry.
Oh and for the tech support guy it's not just oldies who cause you problems, I am 65 and sort my Grandkids network when they have a problem.
