why over-generalization again? never at any school i was taught American accent.from what know, people learn Estuary English, and the listening comprehension is always in British English. Maybe it comes from American films and songs?
Some sounds will be never pronounced like the natives do, usually you see “I” somewhere, and you pronounce it in a Polish way, wihout making any effort and against what you were taught at school*. its easier, and more natural, not that i do it, although the “TH” sound is something I guess will never master.
*Classic example is “THINK”
they are stupid?
Religions are all scams. Hope that helps.
Sorry, I tried to learn French (studied it until grade 10) but it just never clicked for me. To be honest, I never had a chance to use it outside of class…so I forgot it almost as soon as I stopped taking it. I switched into Japanese class and that worked out a lot better for me. Asian languages are also much more immediately useful in BC, so you get a lot more students studying them once they reach high school. It’s not that we don’t want to learn French, it’s just that we lose it because we don’t use it.
I would also be very interested in this. In particular, I remember when I was in Taiwan and spongebob squarepants in Chinese with Chinese subtitles was excellent for developing listening comprehension. Been trying to find it ever since.
