The Peak would have been a great place – lots of UTS students, but it is probably costly.
If you don't mind public transport, probably somewhere in the Lower North Shore? That's pretty safe, and the atmosphere is quite nice around that place. If you can't afford it, you could try Chatswood or some other place filled with students.
