Hey Matt, I'm really enjoying your “Loop Fun” series. I've looked around trying to find good learning materials for comping with walking bass lines, and there really is not much out there. I think it would be great if you would make a book or DVD on the topic, and please include transcriptions of all the patterns you used in these loop videos! I'll be glad to purchase it as I am sure many other jazz guitar fanatics would.
I think you have to consider that China and India are "rising" in a very different context than was the case in any other time period.
Moreover, what would China gain (or India) by eliminating the other? You seem to be focused on economics based on what you've written. I'm not sure it's in any economic power's interests to eliminate markets for their goods.
Where I could see conflict is over natural resources, especially control of watersheds with headwaters in the Himalayas.
I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about from China, as an Indian. You've already kind of hinted at who the dangerous problem child in the neighborhood is, and that is Pakistan. The country seems to be in a death spiral at the moment, which is scary given their nuclear capabilities. If I were you, that's where I'd be looking for future problems (even current problems) for India in the form of armed conflict.
You might also consider that climate change-driven sea level changes could give Indians a few million new Bangladeshi neighbors. That could make for an interesting humanitarian problem and a hell of a lot of internal conflict as people are pushed into India after losing their homes. That would scare the s**t out of me if I lived anywhere in India, but especially the Bengali regions.
